Letters from the Other Side

On May 22, 2006, nearly one hundred members of the Austin community joined the Religion and Labor Network of Austin for a screening of "Letters from the Other Side" at the Congregational Church of Austin, UCC.  "Letters from the Other Side" is a new and highly acclaimed documentary film which explores with unusual thoughtfulness the human impact of migration and immigration policies in the lives of Mexican families. 

Following the screening the audience was able to discuss the film with the film maker, Heather Courtney.  In addition several migrant workers from the Austin Area discussed their own dreams and struggles with the audience, noting how nearly every immigrant worker faces challenges, hardships, and risks like those depicted in the film.
