Give to EJC

On December 13, 2005, the Central Texas Immigrant Workers' Rights Center and the Religion and Labor Network of Austin (both projects of the EJC) joined together with day laborers  and community supporters in front of the Austin City Hall for a candlelight prayer vigil.  The purpose of the vigil was to urge the City Council to oppose a proposed amendment to Austin City Ordinance Section 12-1-27 that would broadly ban nearly all job-seeking by day laborers on sidewalks and other public spaces.
